Proverbs 31 consists of two poems - the first is a mother advising her son, Lemuel (Solomon?), to avoid self-indulgence, to speak for those who have no voice, to render justice.
The second poem is an acrostic listing the qualities of a wife whose value is far above rubies (NKLV), far above pearls (LSB).
An excellent wife is:
1. vs 11-12 Trusted by her husband
2. vs 13-19 Hard-working
3. v 20 Compassionate
4. vs 21-22 Ready for tough times
5. v 23 A blessing to her husband
6. vs 24-27 Endowed with Godly Wisdom
7. vs 28-29 Admired by her family
8. vs 30-31 Honored by God
